Campgrounds and Resident Camps

To help ensure healthy and safe recreation, campgrounds and resident camps in Henry County are inspected for compliance with State of Ohio regulations. Any tract of land upon which five or more RV’s, tents, or a combination of these are placed is considered a campground and is required to be licensed and inspected. When camping is set up for seven consecutive days or less, a temporary camp license is also required to be obtained from the Health Department.
“Resident camp” means a facility which is being primarily utilized for the purpose of camping, that requires overnight residence, indoor or outdoor activities, and exists on any tract of land together with any buildings or other structures pertinent to its use.
