Safe Communities

The Henry County Safe Communities Coalition works to reduce traffic problems through major initiatives and projects focused on seat belt usage, impaired driving, motorcycle safety, coalition involvement and fatal data review.

Henry County Safe Communities receives federal funds administered through the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s (ODPS) Ohio Traffic Safety Office (OTSO).

The Ohio Safe Communities program is a data-driven initiative to save lives and reduce injuries through collaboration among state, county, and local partners.

Henry County Safe Communities has five primary goals:

  1. Increasing seat belt usage
  2. Increasing seat belt and impaired driving awareness
  3. Increasing motorcycle safety awareness
  4. Coalition building
  5. Fatal data review
