Six Sections

The Health Department is organized into six sections who carry out and support the various services that we provide here at HCHD

Environmental Health

Focusing on preventing disease and promoting health, Registered Environmental Health Sanitarians address food safety, water quality through inspections, education, and enforcement to ensure the a safe and healthy community.

Public Health Nursing

Programs and services in this section focus primarily on the health care needs of individuals, including immunizations and disease investigations.  Public Health Nurses educate health care providers on ever-changing vaccination information and provide assistance to individuals with special healthcare needs, and their families, through the Complex Medical Help (CMH) program.

Administrative Services

This section supports operations of the entire Health Department, while maintaining vital records including birth and death certificates.

Community Health Services

This section focuses primarily on health education and promotion, emergency preparedness and response, community assessments, data analysis, and the facilitation of health-related county coalitions.

Home Visiting

Help Me Grow Home Visiting provides support and education to families with infants and young children to promote comprehensive health and development.  Home visitors empower parents with tools and confidence to nurture children through their earliest years.

Henry County Cares

Henry County Cares links participants to needed services and resources.  Community Health Workers (CHWs) are frontline public health workers who serve as a bridge between communities and healthcare or social services, ensuring access to care and information.
